Self Belief

It doesn't matter how much talent you have. If you don't
have self belief, you'll never achieve. Your strongest tool is your mind.
This poem was stuck on the wall at my dojo back when I
started in 1976. I have no idea who the author was, or when it was written, or
indeed if the words are correct. Read it though, and you'll see that every word
is true....
If you think you are
beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you'd like to win, but think you can't, it's almost certain you won't.
If you think you'll lose you've lost.
For out in the world we find success begins with a person's will.
Its all in the state of mind.
If you think you are outclassed, you are.
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of yourself before you can ever win a prize.
Life's battles don't always go to the strongest or
faster man.
Sooner or later the man who wins is the one who thinks
he can. |
Be realistic, but believe in yourself!!
