Thai combination: Punches

 

 

1. Fighters square off

 

 2. Step in for punch

 

 3. Lead uppercut

 

 4. Chamber left arm

 8. Right cross

 

 

 

This is an advancing combination of punches, used to create openings in opponent's guard to finally strike. Any punch could hit, and the punches come from various directions to confuse the opponent.

1. Adam (red shorts) and Richard (black shorts) square off in the technical range.

2. Richard steps forward and across, his weight shifting to the lead leg and body dropping down slightly.

3. Using full body twist combined with a pushing up motion from the lead leg the uppercut is thrown.

4. Richard chambers his position in preparation for...

5. The lead hand hook, here blocked by Adam by rotating his guard.

6. As Adam lowers his guard the lead hand hook is rotated in...

7. Opening Adam's guard for Richard to score with a powerful planted right cross.
