I am a Researcher in the Vauxhall Centre for the Study of Crime which is part of the Department of Applied Social Studies at the University of Luton.

My research interest pertaining to this register is the subject of under-aged prostitution in England during the twentieth century. Important aspects of this research are the extent to which this practice is and should be regarded as a significant social problem. What social and economic conditions have enabled or encouraged under-aged prostitution to continue and also how under-aged prostitutes have been perceived in the context of discourses about child sexuality.
