BING-BING AND THE SHOOTING STARS
Little Bing-Bing couldn't sleep.
She had tried lying on her back and on her front. She had tried sleeping at the top of her bed of leaves then at the bottom. She had even tried sleeping under the bed, but that hadn't worked either.
So she sat, in the dark, with only the light of the stars coming through the trees.
She began to feel a little lonely, but in the darkness she could hear her mother's deep, soft breathing. So she padded over to her mother's side, and sat there for a while, listening. Her mother, snuffled every now and again, dreaming.
Bing-Bing snuggled up to her mother and tried to sleep. But it was no good. She shuffled about so much that her mother woke up.
"Can't you sleep Bing-Bing?" her mother whispered sleepily. "Never mind. Let's go and meet some friends of mine."
Bing-Bing wondered what her mother meant. What friends could she be going to meet at this time of night?
So both Bing-Bing and her mother and went off into an open forest glade. Her mother sat down, and patted the ground, calling Bing-Bing to sit next to her.
