The UK-China Leonid Meteor Shower Observation Project

BING-BING'S PROJECTS

The projects were devised with middle and junior schools in mind. They are suitable for Keystages 2 and 3 in the British educational system (9 year olds and up).

However, it is probably worthwhile for older students to glance through the projects as a refesher, and then go on the section on "How to Observe". This section is suitable for KS4 and 5 projects.

1. Meeting the Moon

2. Why does the Moon change shape?

3. Why do we only see one side of the Moon?

4. Why do stars that are different sizes seem the same size?

5. Are constellations real?

6. Finding your way around the sky.

7. Names of the constellations.

8.Why do meteors seem to come from one point?

9. What is friction?

10. The Solar System.

11. Make a comet.

12. Observe the Leonid Meteor Shower.
